We invite you to take a tour of our studio gallery – which has a main gallery featuring many original works by Laurette and me – and the studio section, where Laurette does her art work and where we have displays of our prints, T-shirts, my books, and more.
The tour shows the broad range of our subjects and ways of working, in various media. David discusses his approaches to his natural drawings and watercolors, including the many he has produced to serve as illustrations for his five published books.
He also talks about his work outside of that natural history realm, which ranges from “magicsquare” paintings inspired by one of his primary heroes, Paul Klee, to cubist and surrealist works, as well as his earlier botanical watercolors; and the importance of Japanese screen paintings and Chinese landscapes to his art.
The studio gallery is open by chance or by appointment. We recommend that you call or use our contact page to arrange for a visit when one or both of us are available, especially outside of winter, when Laurette is often away painting and David is in the swamps.
We welcome inquiries from collectors and others interested in considering purchases of original work. We also have a selection of limited edition giclée prints for sale.
